Newcomers from any background are welcome.
We are a group of people across different age groups, from diverse cultural backgrounds, who get together to worship God, and to encourage each other in our day-to-day lives. We are part of the Presbyterian Church of Australia, so we trust God as our Heavenly Father, Jesus as God’s Son and the Holy Spirit as our Helper: one God in three persons, full of grace and love. Our heritage is reformed and evangelical.
A group of elders (called the session) including the teaching elder, known as the minister, is responsible for the spiritual oversight of the congregation. Our elders also function as deacons, along with others, in caring for practical needs.
Rev David Brown, the current minister, has been at Cheltenham since 2007, along with his wife, Roslyn. They have four adult children (one of whom still worships at Cheltenham) and nine grandchildren. David’s first degree was in Science, so he has a keen interest in the Science of Creation. He is the immediate past moderator of the Presbyterian Church of Victoria.
"What is the purpose of life?
- The purpose of life for all people is to glorify God and to enjoy Him forever."
